Who we are?

For a number of years, a small group had been meeting with the Derby City Council Bereavement Services Manager and a ward locality manager to try and establish a Friends of the Cemetery group.

A Facebook group was created in July of 2023 and posts on the history of the cemetery and its interesting occupants began.

The first meeting in the present format was held in November 2023 and a Chair of the group was elected.

Since then a Committee has been formed with a Vice Chair, Treasurer and Secretary. Meetings are held bi-monthly with an AGM in November.

This website has been initially funded with a grant from Foundation Derbyshire.
